Crosstrek tops Insurify’s list of crash-prone cars

New York residents with Subaru Crosstreks may be surprised to hear the results of a survey from Insurify. After analyzing its database of over 1.6 million insurance quotes, the auto insurance comparison site came out with a list of 10 newer vehicles that see the most at-fault crashes in the U.S. The 2019 Crosstrek was determined to be the most accident-prone with some 25.81% of models affected in crashes.

Statistics only came from those quotes where the driver revealed the vehicle’s make and model and if the vehicle had been involved in a crash before. Of the 10 vehicles, one is American, seven Japanese and two Korean.

The most intriguing thing about the results is that the Crosstrek was a top safety pick of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. This is reflected in the fact that many crashes do not turn out badly for occupants of the Crosstrek. Second on the list is Honda’s HR-V with 25.7% of these cars being caught up in car collisions.

The rest of the list includes the following: Hyundai Elantra GT, Infiniti Q50, Subaru WRX, Mazda3, Acura ILX, Lexus CT, Chevrolet Trax and Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. Subaru’s second vehicle on the list, the WRX, has a reputation for getting the highest proportion of speeding tickets.

There are many reasons why a driver can be held liable for a crash. He or she may have been speeding, driving drunk or driving distracted. In such cases, a victim may hire a motor vehicle accident attorney who can help them get reimbursed for their losses. Much depends on whether they contributed to the crash and to what degree. An attorney, together with a network of third parties, may assist in putting forward a strong claim.
